Going Out

So last night I had such a great time going out with my new friends and visiting some Georgia Tech parties.  We got ready at night which was really fun because I got to do one of my friends' makeup and it was just nice to be going out of eachother's dorm rooms borrowing clothes and waiting to do our hair.  We decided to travel on the Marta which was ok. None of us had our Zip Car cards yet so this was the next best bet. It only cost us each $2.50 to get from Decatur where Agnes Scott is, to Atlanta; where Tech is located.  We went to go visit several different fraternity houses and felt a warm welcome from each of them. Our night lasted long and we didn't get home until very late by taxi but I had such a great time. It was a great new experience to go out, bond with my new friends and to make new ones.

Until tonight,

Appreciating Nature

So today was a rather humid day here at Agnes Scott.  It seemed like every where I went I saw some little critter crawling on thw floor. I was heading over to my Intro to Organizational Management class when I saw a huge caterpillar slugging its way to the grass. I had a great time in class and learned a lot about life in the world of economics. I learned that I should always take a step back and analyze my surroundings. It is important to be aware of what is going on when it has to do with world issues and little things like walking to class because if I wasn't watching where I was stepping, I would squashed that critter. I also realized how beautiful the trees on campus were. I finished class and saw my roomate laying in a hammock. I went over and sat in it and boy was it a great pick me up during my long day. As I layed hanging there in mid air I felt like I was like a leaf just balancing gracefully on the tree branches. It was an awesome feeling and I can wait to go in one again.

Until tomorrow,

First day of class!

So today was the first day of class for me as a transfer student here at Agnes Scott College. I am happy to say that I am starting as a third year student and I am majoring in Economics and Organizational  Management. Today I only had to attend a Spanish 101 class so I didn't have much to worry about. I also went to my first day as an intern in the admissions office. I had a a lot of fun but I quickly realized that I need to get my head in the game and start coming up with good ideas for this school year. With all that happened throughout my day, I learned that great friends and memories are out there to be found; it is up to the individual on how that is going to be achieved. I met so many amazing women thus weekend during orientation but now that school is starting and everyone is finding their place with friends and clubs, I am so thankful for having the friends I have made. I don't think I have felt so welcomed and have laughed so hard in a while now and it is just very comforting to know that I live where I am welcomed and that everyone here has a drive to succeed and make a difference in this world, one friendship at a time.

Until tomorrow,
